Eddie called me to ask me what I am doing for NYE? I was on my "Call of Duty" furiously shooting down German soldiers on my PS2 then. And I am glad he called. Haha! I came out of battle mode and gathered some friends for a dinner, possibly to a place for countdown to 2005.
We had dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen Bugis, then to HV Haagen Daz, NYDC for mudpie and coffee.
Another year just flew by! And we are all in a new year!
I am very happy to be spending time with good friends this NYE countdown. How precious are friends to us! That we can laugh at one another silly jokes, share some cakes, tell some stories about our past, share some dreams and aspirations for the future.
On the way home, I shared with Owen how different our individual lives would be in 5 years time. "Perhaps half of us would be married with kids by then", he quipped.
5 years ago, I just ORD and had no idea of what I wanted to do with my life. Now I am glad that I see clearer what lies ahead bec I know who holds my future. At one time, I felt that I have wasted many years away, doing things and living a life that doesn't amount to much. But it's precisely of these years that have moulded my outlook on life. Look! I have come this far!
I don't have the habit to make NY resolutions bec I neber seem to keep them. Haha! by March or April I probably would have forgotten what were the NY resolutions I had made! This time, lemme just blog it down! Here it goes...
For this new year 2005,
To draw near to the Lord and
To make certain of His calling for my life, and not to waver
To reach out to people, be a good witness for Him
To get involved in missions outreach
To learn a new skill or language
To be faithful with the resources I have in my hand,
To better manage my own finances and save up as much as I can
To choose wisdom, not folly
When making decisions, not to lean on my own understanding, but to seek Him & lean towards His wisdom
To continue to learn to surrender my rights to Him so that he can use me more
To maintain a positive mindset and attitude
To draw up a plan with clear objectives what I'm gonna do in the next 5 years. I would be 33 years old. Haha!~
To remember and stick to the above NY resolutions
And the best thing to begin the year is this: I received a sms from a best friend right after NY morning. From a friend that's far by distance, but close to my heart. And if you reading this: Remember okay? No matters what happens, we'll always be good friends.
Happy New Year folks!
