31 Jan 2005 - I Am So Blessed!!!

I am truly very blessed by all of you! Thank you for making my 28th birthday one birthday that I'll remember for the rest of my life! I haven't got such a happy birthday for many years already... Really! Thank God for all of your love and concern! Thank Eddie, Jon, Owen, Anna, Caroline, Clarrisa, FiOne, Michelle for everything! A special note to TB for posing as a NS camp personnel to inform me of my Feb MOB recall... that was a clever move! Keke!

HELP NEEDED FOR KIDS' CAMP!!!
Folks, I am helping out in this Royal Family Kids Camp(RFKC) and I need your kind help and support.
http://rfkc.org
In a nutshell, this camp is

Quick Facts:

• We were founded in 1985 by Wayne and Diane Tesch. (Originated from US. Singapore RFKC started some 4 years ago by Meng Hin and Caroline, his wife)

• We’ve had more than 16,000 kids at our one-week summer Camps
in Singapore, bec of lack of sponsorship, we are looking at 15-20 kids per camp. The cost for each kid will cost more than S$1000 for a week lodging, food, activities etc.

• Most of our campers are in foster care
(Kids come from abused, abandoned, neglected backgrounds)

• In everything we do, we strive to create positive memories for our campers
(We show them God's love and bring them closer to Jesus)

• Camps are held annually for kids ages 7 to 11
(This year camp is in 3rd week of June, we are still planning)

• Local churches sponsor each Camp
(Our spiritual covering is Living Faith Church.

I will need volunteers who can avail themselves for 1 week, pref full-time committment, in 3rd week of the month of June. You can help out as

1)Counsellors(taking care full-time of 1-2 kids) - I need many volunteers
2)Logistics (May not nid to stay-in)
3)Nurse (only 1 needed)
4)Bible Stories Team (Drama and fun, lots of laughter)
5)Music (Lead children's worship)
6)Crafts (Very simple job. but need patience, and prep work)
7) Photographer (1 person, pref got own laptop to arrange photos)

If you are keen in any of the above, pls gimme a call! As soon as possible. Bec we are running on a tight budget and time frame. I will be glad to give you whatever info you need. Pls don't mass forward this RFKC info. Pref you can help approach friends whom you known and trusted personally. You can give them my contact.
Bec the kids are a special group in God's eyes. We only want the most committed Christians who will make a difference in these kids' lives. Join the camp, you will be blessed too.

Great weekend...

AAAAAwesome weekend for me. Spent an weekend at the BB/GG campsite at Sembawang. Its an encounter weekend thingy with Ps Rol/LF/LC networks. The unique experience was that they set up the OT Tabernacle, according to the requirements laid down in the Book of Exodus. For me, it wasn't a exceptionally emotional or spiritual thingy. But looking back at the OT, I'm really full of thanksgivings to God for the new covenant we have now, with better promises.

Its was a great sunday as well. After breaking camp, met up with some good friends for coffee, desserts and just hang out together.

Looking forward for this Wednesday, meeting some old friends for dinner to pre-celebrate my birthday. Haha! As we grow older, we seem to have more dinners... well..

For this Thursday, would be meeting up with some friends to plan for the upcoming "Royal Family Kids' Camp 2005". In short, its a 1 week camp thingy for under-privileged kids. My 3rd year running.. Really excited to be involved in the planning for the camp this June. Anyone keen to help out in any way??? pls call me. Hahaha!

Friday, Holiday?

Saturday, joining Danny Loke for service...

Eddie called me to ask me what I am doing for NYE? I was on my "Call of Duty" furiously shooting down German soldiers on my PS2 then. And I am glad he called. Haha! I came out of battle mode and gathered some friends for a dinner, possibly to a place for countdown to 2005.

We had dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen Bugis, then to HV Haagen Daz, NYDC for mudpie and coffee.

Another year just flew by! And we are all in a new year!

I am very happy to be spending time with good friends this NYE countdown. How precious are friends to us! That we can laugh at one another silly jokes, share some cakes, tell some stories about our past, share some dreams and aspirations for the future.

On the way home, I shared with Owen how different our individual lives would be in 5 years time. "Perhaps half of us would be married with kids by then", he quipped.

5 years ago, I just ORD and had no idea of what I wanted to do with my life. Now I am glad that I see clearer what lies ahead bec I know who holds my future. At one time, I felt that I have wasted many years away, doing things and living a life that doesn't amount to much. But it's precisely of these years that have moulded my outlook on life. Look! I have come this far!

I don't have the habit to make NY resolutions bec I neber seem to keep them. Haha! by March or April I probably would have forgotten what were the NY resolutions I had made! This time, lemme just blog it down! Here it goes...

For this new year 2005,
To draw near to the Lord and
To make certain of His calling for my life, and not to waver
To reach out to people, be a good witness for Him
To get involved in missions outreach
To learn a new skill or language
To be faithful with the resources I have in my hand,
To better manage my own finances and save up as much as I can
To choose wisdom, not folly
When making decisions, not to lean on my own understanding, but to seek Him & lean towards His wisdom
To continue to learn to surrender my rights to Him so that he can use me more
To maintain a positive mindset and attitude
To draw up a plan with clear objectives what I'm gonna do in the next 5 years. I would be 33 years old. Haha!~

To remember and stick to the above NY resolutions

And the best thing to begin the year is this: I received a sms from a best friend right after NY morning. From a friend that's far by distance, but close to my heart. And if you reading this: Remember okay? No matters what happens, we'll always be good friends.

Happy New Year folks!
